The TV5MONDE network has announced that it will devote an investment of up to one million euros to support the production of Moroccan animation, within a partnership framework bringing together Moroccan and French creators. The aim is to develop French-language audiovisual content and strengthen its presence on the international stage.
In an official statement, the network said the initiative will lead to the production of eight Moroccan animated series for its channels. The move is part of its strategy to broaden support for children’s content, particularly on the TiVi5MONDE channel, which draws 30 million viewers each week.
The project comes as an extension of initiatives the institution has run in recent years, when it supported animation studios in a number of African countries. That support has now been extended to Morocco as well, thanks to an exceptional grant from France’s Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs.
In the same context, TV5MONDE has signed cooperation agreements with two Moroccan studios specializing in animation — Neverseen Productions and Art Coustic Studios — whose work draws on Moroccan heritage and history.
