Casablanca – Morocco’s Ministry of Transport and Logistics has introduced another phase of financial assistance for road transport operators, reinforcing government efforts to ease the burden of rising fuel costs. The latest support package covers the period from July 16 to July 31, 2026.
According to the ministry, eligible passenger and freight transport professionals will be able to submit applications beginning Thursday, August 6, through the ministry’s dedicated online platform.
The initiative is part of a long-running government program designed to cushion the impact of volatile global oil prices on Morocco’s transport industry. Since its launch, the scheme has been renewed several times, and earlier this year authorities changed the payment schedule to every two weeks, allowing support to better reflect shifts in international fuel markets.
The announcement follows another increase in fuel prices across Morocco after a short-lived decline earlier this year. In May, diesel prices dropped by roughly MAD 1 per liter, while gasoline fell by around MAD 1.10 per liter, briefly bringing prices below MAD 15 per liter. Those reductions, however, were temporary, with fuel costs climbing again in recent weeks.
Transport operators have consistently urged the government to continue the subsidy program, arguing that elevated fuel prices continue to strain operating budgets despite occasional price decreases. Industry organizations say the financial assistance remains vital for businesses involved in both passenger and freight transportation.
While the ministry has not revealed the amount allocated for this latest round of support, it emphasized that the program is intended to help transport companies manage fuel price fluctuations and ensure continued stability within the sector.
