The Casablanca Stock Exchange, the main bourse in Morocco and one of the largest in Africa, ended Friday’s session in negative territory. Its benchmark MASI index, which tracks all listed companies, slipped 0.15 percent to close at 18,022.08 points.
The MASI ESG index, which follows companies with the strongest environmental, social, and governance ratings, fell more sharply, down 0.58 percent to 1,268.32 points. The MASI 20, an index reflecting the performance of 20 of the exchange’s listed companies, bucked the trend with a slight gain of 0.04 percent to 1,333.18 points.
